I found this gem at the 2004 Minnesota Textile Center garage sale. I feel bad for the unfortunate "space youth", whose well-intentioned grandmothers knit them outfits from this magazine.

True confessions of a novice knitter!
I learned to knit a few years ago, and started a knit blog so I could keep a journal of my knitting progress (or lack thereof).
This blog is currently on hiatus, but you can find me over at my new blog, China Shepherdess, where I write about my do-it-yourself decorating and other home improvement projects.

LOL!! I almost spit out my drink when I saw this. I wonder where these kids are today.

Those really are disturbing. I would totally wear that little brown dress except the hat with hair braid is a little creepy. And that little jumpsuit on that poor boy is absolutle frighening.

I bet all of these kids went on to illustrious careers as Montgomery Ward's catalog models.
You are right, the dress is cute, but I just can't get past the disturbing hat!
I think poor little jumpsuit boy is my favorite. What's up with that pose?

Those are hilarious. What I wouldn't do for a knit jumpsuit! Maybe I'll have to put that on my to-knit list.
All the girls' outfits remind me of my old girl scout uniforms! Except for the knit braid-- that is unique.

You are so right, the little dress is very brownie. Do you want the knit jumpsuit pattern? I think it would be just the thing to wear when your kimono is at the cleaners. ;)

Thanks for all the yummy yarn choices!

I had fun pulling them together. This will be a fun swap!

Argh! That's tragic. My Grandma used to knit me and my sister waistcoats out of left-over yarn. I though that was bad enough but this takes the biscuit!

Wow, too funny!

I was never, um, lucky enough to have anyone knit for me!
I'm going to have to use these to "threaten" my friend's kids.
