What we have here is the thumb gusset for my mitten. I've always thought the word gusset seemed vaguely naughty, don't you agree? Shockingly enough, I've made a lot of progress since I took this photo yesterday and am now done with my very first mitten. Now to cast on for number two!

Cute mitten Amy! Love the color!

It looks great! What yarn did you use? I made mittens (I wanted to say "muffins"!) last year for my mom and they were really fun!

Heheheh... gusset does sound vaguely naughty :-) Another pink knit! The mitten looks cute. The only time I would ever get to wear a mitten here is when I need to take something hot out of the oven.

These mittens, naughty gusset and all, are made out of one of my favorite yarns, lamb's pride worsted.
They are almost big enough to use as oven mitts! When they are both done I plan to felt them a bit.

Awesome! It looks great. I am smitten with your mitten! (Sorry for the cheesiness.)

You crack me up! I said the exact same thing about my mitten yesterday!

Love the mitten! It looks so much better than my first attempt at mittens. I knit mine flat then sewed them together. I could use them for oven mitts.

Look at you rocking the double pointed needles!!
Are they hard to use?
Side note--I think I found the Elizabethtown pattern.

Did you get your Swift yet? Can you send me the link again? I lost all the old comments when I started using Blogger's comment box.

Ack, I'm never sure what to do with comments. Do I reply here? In an email? Both? Such a dilemma, and one does not want to appear rude. I've been very inconsistent lately, but anyway...
Angela - The swift I got is from AmiAmi. http://www.ami-itoya.com/ca/
I keep meaning to post about the yarn I ordered at the same time. The order took a couple weeks to arrive, but they also sent me color cards of all their yarn. Very nice people too.
prp - Thanks! I think the color is a little off. It's actually not the lotus pink, but good guess. I'm using rose. The stitch markers are actually phone charms. I was clipping them on my markers to remind me if it was an increase round or not. Worked pretty well!
Newlin - You are a prevert!

Yes, my knitting neuroses is such that I need to seek validation from others. Ha ha ha!
I'm really glad you enjoyed the scarf. It's fun to have "designed" something that someone else actually knit.

Thanks! I picked up those little guys (actually phone charms) after I visited the Expo in Nagoya. I especially love the onigiri.
